Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg To Perform At Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony

Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg To Perform At Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony – What a treat that was. Paris 2024 has brought us some hilarious memes, tear-jerking moments and, most importantly, some truly show-stopping displays of athletic talent, so it’s only right that the Games go out with a display as momentous and dazzling as they began.

The handoff of the Summer Olympic Games from Paris to Los Angeles just got a lot louder. Performances by Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to be featured in the Closing Ceremony of the Paris games on Sunday, multiple sources told Variety.

The lineup has been kept largely under wraps till now, with Paris’s artistic director Thomas Jolly giving little away that the ceremony’s theme will be ‘Records’ and that we can expect ‘world-renowned singers’.

However, ahead of the final weekend of the Games, more has finally been revealed. French bands Air and Phoenix have already been confirmed to appear, as had US presenter Jimmy Fallon and sports commentator Mike Tirico, the evening’s co-hosts. Legendary Hollywood Tom Cruise is due to perform an aerial stunt, which’ll challenge even his most daring adventures in the Mission Impossible franchise, to hand over the next Olympic city (which is LA).

To help Cruise pass the baton is the most recent addition to the line-up, Billie Eilish. Set to be accompanied by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and (king of Olympics memes) Snoop Dogg, this top-tier roster of artists will be performing an LA-themed musical section, according to Variety. Quite the line-up, right?

Where’s the ceremony being held?

Unlike the history-making opening ceremony, which was the first ever to be held outside a stadium, the closing ceremony will follow the traditional route and take place in the Stade de France.

What actually happens?

Thomas Jolly has once again spearheaded the artistic direction of the closing ceremony, which will be called ‘Records’. There’ll be more than 100 performers, dancers, acrobats and circus artists, and some famous faces too. We can expect to see a closing parade, a final medal ceremony, speeches and the extinguishing of the Olympic flame. You can read more about this in our full closing ceremony guide right here.

Flagbearers

The flagbearers are the athletes from each country who wave their nation’s flags in the closing parade, and they tend to be a highly-decorated or well known member of the team. For the opening ceremony, Tom Daley and Helen Glover did so for Great Britain, LeBron James and Coco Guaff did so for Team USA and Florent Manaudou and Mélina Robert-Michon did so for Team France. Stay tuned as these are announced for the closing ceremony.

How to watch

The same places you’ve been going for your Olympics coverage should also be streaming the closing ceremony. If you’re watching in France, tune into France Télévision. In the UK (and if you’ve got a TV licence), the BBC has been showing extensive Olympics coverage, and in the US, NBC should be airing the closing ceremony. The Olympics also has its own streaming channel for those watching online, which will likely include the closing ceremony.

Tickets

There are still closing ceremony tickets available in categories A, B, and C, which start from a hefty €600. You can browse the options on the official ticket website here.
